Noice! Really like the funky dibstep vibes

Synfang responds:

I'll deliver the message to Laughtrr! :D

Nice! Bit too repetitve and the percussion just doesnt work for me, but the layering and stuff is well handled imo

Demonicity responds:

yeah i understand that drum machine sequence patterns don't pleasure everyone.
it's more like an analogic aesthetics choice.

Honestly you're the best at making catchy songs. love the sound design, the bass goes super hard, and like i said it's catchy Af. Only problem is drums are a little dry, but like when its this frickin catchy who cares.

Demonicity responds:

thanks

Nice one! Very slow to start but picks itself up pretty quickly, and despite lacking in synth, the bass and percussion is so goddamn catchy that i have to give it a 5/5.

Demonicity responds:

yeah i have listened lots of progressive music lately so it might affect my work this way.

thank you!

Nice! Really like the synths and the melody overall. My problem is the percussion. It's very repetitive and it's mastered extremely loudly. The crisp-ish but loud snares get on my nerves, as it doesn't work withing the context of the song. The kick is fine but needs to be a lot softer imo. it's also kind of repetitive, but thats not too big of an issue for me (might be for others tho). But those are small points, i still liked this song :)

DanTheMusician responds:

Thanks for the tips. :D Sorry about the percussion.

Okay, there are so many things wrong here.

First of all, mashups aren't even allowed on newgrounds. I hope you knew that, becuase there is a text box right before publishing that states the rules. You can only do that if you have original riffs, beats and unique mashup techniques (which you do not) AND have permission from the the atrist, or in this case fatrat to do so. And before you say "oh i credited him" it doesnt count. Read the fucking rules.

Second, getting your song on GD is harder than that. Getting votes or even getting scouted will not get your song in GD. Only robtop can decide that. Granted, if your song is popular on newgrounds he will allow it. But again, robtop doesn't approve mashups or lazy remakes. For it to be approved EVERY riff has to be original. Even a millisecond of a sample will get your audio removed or banned, and if not robtop wont approve it.

Now, I would give a higher score if you put effort. It would be low, sure, but i would say "at least he tried". But it literally looks like you just overlapped them in imovie or something. They dont gel well, no extra mastering, no nothing. I don't even think you used a music software to do this, it literally sounds like you edited them in windows movie maker or something like that. Now, I may be wrong, but even if so you still didn't add anything unique. So learn FL first, then publish songs.

So if your song gets a low rating, here is why. I hope you learn from your mistakes. If you want your song in gd put some effort. Don't just give me an angry reaction or cuss at me. I am simply stating why it might have a bad score and why it won't be used for GD. I'm just going to hope that you handle this maturely. Thank you

EDIT: wow, very surprised at how you handled this, a lot of GD players would just snap at me for no reason. Guess my hopes came true, couldn't imagine you handling it better. thanks!

CaliberKat responds:

I understand. I just wanted to make something people would find interest in. Obviously that failed. I agree with you.

Interesting song.
I won't call it great, and certainly not good enough to be scouted. The drop feels very empty, the percussion is as basic as you can get, and there is literally no bassline. But melody is good enough, the instruments (apart from that dammed percussion) are well picked, and there is enough progression for it to sound acceptable.

SirHadoken responds:

That's 2016 for ya.

Love it, very calming! The percussion is especially noteworthy and the instruments blend well. The melody changes throughout and makes for a nice calming atmosphere. Great work!

EagleGuard responds:

Thank you for your kind words! Much appreciated!

fine for 2008, but not sure if it holds up so well today

RyeGuyHead responds:

I'm not sure its even good for 2003

Cool song, the melody is quite good, the bass is good for a garage band song and the melodies and instruments geo well together. My main problem is it feels extremely repetitive, with similar note pattens and instruments. The intensity feels like a straight line with no changes, and it just feels like one consecutive drop, only adding a couple things over time. Another problem is the percussion, i know you dont have a lot to work woth but it feels too... live. I think a clap or a more loud and crisp snare would work a lot better. apart from that, good work!

Electro2012 responds:

Hi, thank you so much for the review :)
I totally agree with you about the song being repetitive, I’ll keep practicing to improve that.

Anyways, I’m glad that you like it.

ackee39 is a producer who talks about himself in the third person, how pretentious!
