Gotta love that brutal dubstep with a slight chrod progression to elevate it. There's very little heavy dubstep I like as much as this.

Technocosm responds:

Thanks, you could probably tell the theme for this one was dirty basses. 😅

This one goes so damn hard and I love it so much; Really cool how the subtle melodies made their way into the super heavy drops. Great stuff!

Technocosm responds:

Thank you, man. Glad you like it. =)

This is so great! The melodies are greatly mastered, and flow smoothly from one to the other, the chord progression is great, and the sound design is like nothing i've seen; It's got this cool lyric-like design to it that I barely ever see, with all the curves and slides that change every note. And finally, a song that gets soft drums right. I'm normally very nitpicky on soft drums, but this song does it right; by making it stand out, despite being quietly mastered. I'm pretty mixed on the compression of the song, but I think that it adds to the synthwave-like vibe to the song so i'm cool with it. overall a great song that I'll definitely come back to

Hey, it's awesome to see another review from you so soon, Ackee39! Really glad to hear that you enjoy the ride, man. I love being able to put my own personal spin on some cool Synthwave vibes. In fact, I often incorporate note slides and grace notes in my music, which - now that you mention it - I don't really hear all that often. I guess that's just me doing my thing.

I'm happy to hear that you dig the softer drums, especially since that seems to be a pretty rare opinion. While I'm not against hard-thumping beats (far from it), I try not to overdo it. Not everything needs heavy percussion to be impactful, and in this case I really wanted the musical elements to shine through without being overcome by drums.

It's not the first time compression was mentioned, and while I didn't really add compression to the final mix, I did use a lot of EQ effects and such on the instruments themselves, so I guess that's what makes it sound compressed. It's meant to have kind of dystopian sound, so it seems to work out well enough.

Thanks once again for a very detailed review! It's very much appreciated, and I hope you'll keep spinning my tracks. May you always enjoy the ride.

An absolute banger! I love the vibes of this one! Feels a bit empty at parts but i like it that way!

ChronoNomad responds:

Very much part of the plan, I assure you! I do enjoy a bit of nuance to my haunting melodies...as do you, it seems! Much appreciated, Ackee39.

djvi be kinda sus doe

Hehee ;)

What's everyone talking about, the mastering was good and the sidechain is pretty apparent to me! The chord progression is amazing, i think the pacing is great, i love the sounds and the mastering is pretty solid! Sometimes the snares get a little drowned out, the drop should be a bit louder, and the lead in the back of the drop at the end should be just a bit louder, but overall this is an amazing song i would love coming back to.

(I don't get the inspiration though, this is very different than at the speed of light, pacing wise, genre wise and atmosphere-wise, but I'm probably missing something)

Synfang responds:

You are correct about ATSOL; however, my inspiration was in the sense of having the key change towards the end, and also I took inspiration from ATSOL in the ending piano sections of the songs. Anyway, thank you for your feedback! :D

Memes aside, this is really good. I like the lead of the song, and the percussion is actually pretty good. Mastering wise, i think the drop should have been mastered louder but it doesn't bother me that much, I think all the instruments are mastered quite nicely. Overall great song.

Synfang responds:

At the time I made this, I admittedly wasn't nearly as good at mastering as I am now, so I apologize for my inexperience. Anyway, thanks for the feedback! :D

Nice hardstyle! Only complaint is the percussion (yes, i know, i rag about percussion way too much). At 0:30, i think the snares should be mastered louder, they're very quiet but crist and it doesn't work for me, and the drop has the same problem as the DJVI hardstyle CLG; The snares are very drowned out, thus making it not seem like a drop. But apart from that this remake is really good, especially the lead and the new melody edits.

Synfang responds:

Yeah, you're right. I would make more hardstyle nowadays and demonstrate improvement upon this, but I kinda lost my good hardstyle kicks, so once I get another hardstyle sample pack, I'll get right back to this. As for mastering, at the time I made this, I wasn't nearly as knowledgeable about that as I am now (not that I'm currently an expert by any means, but I'm a lot better than I used to be), so pardon my inexperience.

Anyway, thanks for the feedback!

Nice one! Only complaint is that the snares should be a bit more crisp and loud, as the washed-out snare kinda gets on my nerves. But overall amazing Collab, especially like the lead. Looking forward to your future stuff

Synfang responds:

The snares (assuming you mean the ones in the buildups and drops) were Elexco's addition, but that aside, thanks for the feedback! :D

Absolutely wonderful. The drum pattern is great, the pacing is very nice (especially for a 7 minute runtime), and i especially like the chord progression and the sound design especially. The parts that shine the most are the heavy dubstep with the melody; It's just everything I like in dubstep. The only iffy part are some of the dubstep parts without the melody but that's the literal definition of nitpicking. One of my favorite songs, and easily my favorite song of yours.

Demonicity responds:

thank you!
